by Staff Correspondent, Dhaka – At least six people have been killed and dozens others wounded after a passenger bus collided head on with a truck in northern Dimajpur district, police said on Friday.
The accident occurred in the morning at Panchbari Bazar Chackrampur area of Dinajpur Sadar upazila, officer Farid Hossain said.
The officer said the passenger bus of Nabil Paribahan, which was en route to Ranishankail of Thankurgaon, hit the mango-laden truck from the opposite directions, killing the driver of the truck and helper of the bus, on the spot.
Four others, including a child, died after they were taken to hospital.
Police and the members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence department recued the passengers who suffered severe injuries. They were rushed to local hospital for medical treatment.
